Best restaurants in Playa del Coco

As we have met out of towners on our trip we have been asked where the best places to eat are.  Here are my list of our favorites so far!

The Look Out Restaurant:  This is located close to the top of the hill right above Hotel Chantel.  They have fantastic seafood.  My favorite meal was the sweet and spicy chicken dish.  They also have fantastic drinks.  Must try the Piña Colada and the Coco Loco.  The Look Out has won the competition for best Chili Guaro shot in Coco and is absolutely delicious!  This is one of the only places that offer a great selection of craft beers.  The service is always fantastic and you cannot beat the view from the top!

Che Sirloin: Che Sirloin is a great little family run Argentinian restaurant.  We fully enjoyed trying a different kind of cuisine.  This was our first try at Argentinian food and it was great.  Must try their homemade Chipotle sauce especially if you crave spice.  This was in a nice little area away from the foot traffic of the beach.  Highly recommended.  Prices are comparable to other restaurants in the area.  Address:  El Pueblito Sur Local 10 Las Palmas Playas del, Provincia de Guanacaste, Coco

Soda Jardin Tropical:  A traditional little Soda right next to the beach.  I would recommend any of their arroz plates. They have fantastic food and a cool atmosphere right next to the beach.

Ronko Coffee: This is a great little air conditioned cafe that offers great choices in coffee, bruschettas, smoothie bowls, wraps and more.  The owner is very friendly and makes you feel very welcome.  This was a comfortable spot to bring our laptops and get some work done (they have a power-strip for plug in capabilities).  They bake fresh bread every morning! It is heavenly.  It is located right in front of the Super Luperon.

Le Coq: This is a Lebanese restaurant.  All dishes we have tried have been fantastic.  I recommend getting a combo which comes with amazing potatoes and a drink.  They have a great selection of Mediterranean dishes.  Keep in mind they will close during the low seasons.  This has outdoor seating which can get a little hot.  Keep in mind you can order, then eat in the Casino, which has the best air conditioning.  Located on the main road to the beach right next to the casino.

Tuanis Bowls:  If you are craving a good pizza, this is the place to go.  They have fantastic pizza and even better Acai bowls.  The fruit doesn’t get better or fresher than here.  It is a cute little place that also offers a selection of beers.
